Changing Business takes your privacy very seriously and wishes to reassure you that we collect, store and process any information you provide us with in a secure and safe way. We take all possible steps to keep your information private and to ensure it is processed legally. We value your right to decide how we use your information at any time.  Changing Business does not sell, trade or rent your information to other parties and protects your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. Changing Business complies with data protection law. In summary, this requires that the personal information we hold about you must be:



Prospective and actual organisational customers

If you represent an organisation (company, charity, public body) considering the procurement of professional services from Changing Business, we will request and store: your name, job title, company name, company address, contact email addresses and contact telephone numbers, nature of business and a note of any discussions.  This information will be stored in our contact management database and treated in accordance with the overall principles of this Privacy Notice and data protection law.

Should your organisation subsequently enter into a contract with Changing Business to procure professional services, this information will also be copied to our finance system. All contracts and schedules of work shall be securely stored and we will also securely and safely store all emails and any other documents exchanged between contracting parties. All information provided by you shall be used for the sole purpose of being able to effectively and legitimately fulfil our contractual agreements. All transactional data shall be retained for six years for tax purposes.


Individuals registering to engage with Changing Business when operating in the capacity of an employment agency

In addition to providing organisations with consultancy services, Changing Business also operates as an employment agency where we help individuals apply for vacancies with our organisational customers.

In order to legitimately and effectively operate as an employment agency, when registering to be provided with our job finding services, it is by way of legitimate interest that we require you to provide us with the following information that will be stored on our database: full name, telephone numbers, email addresses, postal address and an accurate and up-to-date CV.  We may also request from you and store proof of your Right to Work in the UK and copies of Visas. We will also store notes of any conversations we have with you plus feedback from interviews with clients. When legally required to do so, we may also request from you and store more sensitive personal information such as criminal convictions or any other information pertinent to your job applications.  "Special categories" of particularly sensitive personal information require higher levels of protection. Where we need to have further justification for collecting, storing and using this type of personal information we will ask you to provide your explicit permission to do so.

We may also request references from employers that we will store safely and securely and only share with prospective new employers once you’ve given us express permission to do so.

We shall hold information you provide us with for the purpose of helping you find a job for 24 months after it was last used, unless required by law to hold for longer.  After 24 months of non-usage we will contact you and ask you if you want us to keep your details on our database. At that point, if you do not inform us that you wish your details to be retained on our database, we will delete all of your personal information.  However, please remember that you may ask us to delete, update, or amend your personal information at any point.

All such requested information is held, used and disclosed by us to provide our services to you such as matching your details against vacancies that we have been briefed to source candidates for.  Only with your express permission, we will ever send your personal information to clients in order to be considered for vacancies. We may also use the information you provide us with to send you details about opportunities that match your specified requirements by email, text or by a telephone call. We require third parties that place vacancies with us to respect the security of your data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not use any form of automatic decision making when processing your suitability for clients’ vacancies.

When registering your information with Changing Business, you’ll be asked to choose which ways you’re happy for us to contact you. You will always be able to change your preferences at any time.

We will also securely store email communications we have with you. Additionally, we will store a note of any conversations we have we you.

All such information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security and the law and only used for the sole purpose of helping you find a position we’ve been briefed to recruit for. By registering your details with us, you permit us to process your data in line with this Privacy Notice.



Changing Business does not use Cookies on its website. Any personal information you may provide us with via our website contact form shall be processed as above; safely, securely and with you in control.
